what you need to know:
We strive to offer all inclusive pricing for your day in the salt and sun. Some of our itineraries involve variable costs that we clearly explain at booking (fuel, customs fees, etc). We gladly book with credit card through our website or by phone (340) 690-SALT, with a 50% deposit. Remainder of balance will be charged with the credit card on file, 72 hrs before date of charter. We never visit the fuel dock with you onboard, so fuel and other additions (extending your day, etc) will be charged within 3 business days after your charter is complete, with the credit card on file.
At time of booking, you can add special requests, like a 24 pack of beer or a jig of rum punch to be waiting for you onboard!
Customers are required to request a cancellation 7 days prior to scheduled charter date and time, less 10%. Charter cancellation requests in less than 7 days will NOT receive a deposit refund. Charter cancellation within 72 hrs will be charged the full amount, if we are unable to reschedule you (we will try our best). A no show at the dock, will be charged the full amount.
What about weather cancellations? Unless there is an “Act of God” or conditions prevent us from safely taking you out (Captain’s discretion), we will still run charters, rain or shine. We guarantee a little liquid sunshine won’t ruin your day (trust us, it rains a little bit every other day)…it will add rainbows!
Included onboard all charters:
· A qualified and colorful Captain
· Ice and bottled water
· Coolers for your personal beverages and food
· Ample dry storage space
· Private bathroom and sink
· Blue Tooth sound system (play your own music)
· Fresh water rinse
· Swimming noodles
· Snorkel Gear (But for the best fit, rent from STJ Beach Bum or bring your own)
· FREE Take home Salty Daze Coozies
We recommend you bring:
· Sunscreen (NON-Aerosol)
· Sunglasses, hat and towel/sarong
· Whatever food and drink you want (no glass bottles please)
· $75/pp for customs *BVI only
We recommend you bring ample cash (and credit cards) on your charter to pay for food/drinks. You can always bring it back if you have to much! Processing credit cards can be tricky in the islands (power goes in and out often) so we always say “cash is king”. Additionally, a cash gratuity to the captain at the end of your charter is always a great way to show appreciation for an incredible day!
How much should I tip?
We hire captains and run this business because we absolutely LOVE our jobs. Our Captains enjoy telling tales of Caribbean folklore, explaining how the shipwrecks came to rest on the ocean floor, and why islands are named what they are. By tipping your captain, you are supporting this special place and the people that love it. This is a service industry, a pricey place to live and they do rely on tips to continue to take you out, so please tip accordingly.
Is Pricing Per person or the whole boat?
We charter to up to 6 people at a time, for the whole boat. Meaning you can have less than 6 people, but the price remains the same. If you don’t have a full boat to fill and want to head out, have a chat with your neighbor at the beach or bar and see what you can work out 😊 Just don’t forget to tip your captain!
We offer the convenient pick up location at the National Park dock. It is an easily accessible dock and a quick walk to Mongoose Junction, where you can pick up deli and snacks. Want to rent snorkel gear? Stop by STJ Beach Bum (2nd floor of the building infront of the ferry) at 8:30am and grab your gear before you come aboard. For alternative pick up locations, please send us a message and we will see how we may be able to accommodate.
Free parking in Cruz Bay is a hot commodity, it goes quickly. You can try the lot by the customs dock or almost always find a spot by the Tennis courts (gravel lot). Paid parking is available at Slim Man’s across from Wharfside or L & L, next to the Police station and across from the ball field. Please allow yourself time to get supplies (food drink), find a spot and walk from the car. We recommend you drop your supplies at the dock with a guest while someone goes and parks (never leave things unattended). Please do not park at Mongoose Junction or at the National Park Visitors Center.
